Your books handled accurately so you can focus on the work that pays you

IT freelancers across Suffolk get their self assessment, VAT returns and monthly bookkeeping handled by a dedicated bookkeeper at a fixed monthly price, with no team handoffs and no surprises.

IR35 rule changes, Making Tax Digital and new PAYE obligations are adding real compliance pressure for IT contractors and sole traders. I take care of the financial side so you are never caught out by a deadline or an HMRC change you did not know about.

Is your bookkeeping actually keeping up with your freelance work?

Four questions. Under two minutes. Find out where the gaps are.

How are you currently tracking your income and expenses as an IT freelancer?

How confident are you about your IR35 status and its impact on your tax position?

When did you last file a self assessment tax return on time and with accurate figures?

Are you registered for Making Tax Digital and do you know what your obligations are from April 2026?

YOUR RESULT

Your current setup is creating real financial and compliance risk

Based on your answers, your bookkeeping is not keeping pace with your work. As an IT freelancer, gaps in your records can mean an inaccurate self assessment, missed VAT obligations and exposure to IR35 penalties that start at 30% for careless errors. A conversation with me costs nothing and takes 30 minutes – book a free call and I will tell you exactly what needs sorting.

YOUR RESULT

You have a foundation in place, but there are gaps that could cost you

You are doing some things right, but there are areas where your records or compliance position need attention. With MTD obligations expanding to sole traders from April 2026 and HMRC deploying 5,000 additional compliance officers by 2029, now is a practical time to get everything properly in order. Book a free call and we can go through what you have.

YOUR RESULT

Your finances are in good shape – let’s make sure they stay that way

You are on top of your bookkeeping, which puts you ahead of most IT freelancers. The question is whether your current setup can handle the new PAYE rules from April 2026 and any changes to your IR35 position. If you want a second pair of eyes or a more cost-effective arrangement, I am happy to talk through what that might look like.

WHAT I DO

Services built around how IT freelancers actually work

Everything is handled by me directly. Fixed prices, no hidden extras, no passing you between staff members.

01

Self Assessment Tax Returns

I prepare and file your self assessment accurately based on your full income picture, including contract work, any employment and other sources. You get a clear view of what you owe before the deadline, not after.

WHY IT WORKS

Why working directly with a bookkeeper makes a practical difference

Most IT freelancers deal with impersonal portals or firms that shuffle clients between staff. This is a different arrangement.

You deal with one person, every time

There is no team, no account manager and no handoff. When you contact me, you get me. For IT freelancers with contract-based income that changes month to month, having a bookkeeper who actually knows your situation saves real time and reduces errors.

Fixed monthly pricing with no surprises

Pricing starts from £25 per month and is agreed upfront. You know what you are paying before the month starts, which makes budgeting straightforward and removes the anxiety of unknown fees.

MTD and IR35 awareness built in

I stay current on the compliance rules that affect IT freelancers directly, including Making Tax Digital for sole traders from April 2026 and the updated IR35 thresholds. Your records are maintained in a way that reflects your actual trading position.

FROM CLIENTS I WORK WITH

What clients say

GETTING STARTED

How we get started

Four straightforward steps from first contact to fully organised accounts.

01

Book a free call

We spend 30 minutes on a call where I ask about your work, your current setup and what you actually need. There is no obligation and I will give you a clear view of what needs doing, even if you decide not to work with me.

02

Agree a fixed monthly price

Based on what I learn in the call, I give you a fixed monthly price covering the services you need. No hourly rates, no surprise invoices and no minimum contract periods you were not told about.

03

Get set up on Xero

I set up or take over your Xero account, connect your bank feeds and make sure everything is configured correctly for your trading structure. If you are already on Xero, I review what is there and fix anything that needs attention.

04

Ongoing monthly work, handled

From that point I handle your monthly bookkeeping, file your VAT returns, manage payroll if you need it, and prepare your self assessment when the time comes. You get on with the technical work. I take care of the financial side.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions from IT freelancers

Yes. Fixed monthly pricing is based on the volume and type of work involved, not on your income level. Most IT freelancers with variable contract income fall into a clear pricing band. I agree the price before we start, so you always know what you are paying.
I can take over an existing Xero account. I will review the setup, fix any configuration issues and bring your records up to date. There is no need to start again unless the data is significantly incorrect, and I will tell you honestly if that is the case.
IR35 determines whether HMRC treats your contract income as disguised employment. If you are caught inside IR35, the tax treatment of that income changes and your records need to reflect that correctly. From 6 April 2026, new rules also place joint liability on end clients and agencies for correct PAYE under IR35. I can help you make sure your records match your actual trading status, though for formal IR35 determinations you would work with a qualified accountant.
Making Tax Digital is the HMRC requirement to keep digital financial records and submit returns through approved software. It already applies to VAT-registered businesses. From April 2026, it expands to cover sole traders and landlords above the income threshold. If you are a sole trader IT freelancer earning above that threshold, you will need to be on MTD-compatible software. I use Xero, which is fully MTD compliant, and I handle the submissions on your behalf.
