Your books kept accurately every month, so you can get on with your business
Monthly bookkeeping service from Acme Accounting Services gives you a personal, local bookkeeper who handles your records, VAT and payroll on a fixed monthly price, starting from £25 per month.
You deal directly with me, Ben Kennell, every time. There is no team, no handoffs and no automated portal sending you generic replies when you have a real question.
How much is messy bookkeeping actually costing you?
Four questions. Takes under two minutes. Find out where your books stand right now.
How would you describe the current state of your business records?
How do you currently handle VAT returns and HMRC submissions?
When did you last look at a profit and loss report for your business?
How prepared are you for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, which becomes mandatory from April 2026 for sole traders with income over £50,000?
Your books need attention before the cost of the backlog grows
Unreconciled records and missed HMRC submissions do not stay still. Penalty charges accumulate and the longer the gap, the more time it takes to put things right. A fixed monthly bookkeeping service gives you a clean starting point and keeps things current from that point forward, so this does not happen again.
You have a working setup but there are gaps worth fixing now
Doing your own books is manageable until it is not. If you are relying on software you do not fully trust, or catching up on submissions under pressure, a monthly bookkeeping service takes that workload off your plate entirely. You get accurate records, timely submissions and a clear picture of your numbers without the stress.
Your foundations are solid. The question is whether your time is being used well.
If your books are in good shape and submissions are on time, you are ahead of most small business owners. The next question is whether handing the routine work to a dedicated bookkeeper would free up time better spent on running and growing your business. A short call is the easiest way to find out.
What is included in a monthly bookkeeping service
Each service is handled personally by Ben, using Xero cloud accounting, and priced on a fixed monthly basis so you always know what you are paying.
Monthly bookkeeping and bank reconciliation
I keep your income and expenditure records accurate and up to date every month, reconciling your bank accounts so your figures match your actual position. You get a clear set of books and a profit and loss report you can actually read and use.
Core bookkeepingVAT returns and MTD for VAT submissions
I prepare and file your VAT returns through MTD-compliant software, meeting every HMRC deadline so you do not have to track them yourself. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax becomes mandatory from April 2026 for sole traders earning over £50,000, and I can get you ready for that now.
VAT and MTDPayroll processing
I run your payroll each pay period, calculate PAYE and National Insurance, and submit Real Time Information to HMRC on time. Your employees get paid correctly and you stay compliant without managing the process yourself.
PayrollWhy a fixed monthly service works better for small businesses
The alternative is doing it yourself, paying for software you do not use properly, or dealing with a large firm where you speak to a different person every time.
One person who knows your business
Every time you contact me, you are speaking to the person who actually does your books. There is no account manager sitting between us, no junior staff handling your queries, and no risk of your question being passed around before it gets answered.
Fixed monthly pricing with no surprises
You know exactly what you are paying each month from the start. Pricing begins at £25 per month and is agreed before we begin, based on what your business actually needs rather than a one-size package that includes services you will never use.
Xero cloud accounting you can access anytime
Your records are kept on Xero, which means you can log in and see your figures whenever you need to. Cloud accounting is a primary factor enabling outsourced bookkeeping to work well for around 90% of businesses that use it, and it removes the need for emailing spreadsheets or posting receipts.
What clients say about working with Ben
How I work with you
Four steps from first contact to your books being kept accurately each month.
Book a free call
We spend 20 to 30 minutes on the phone or video call going through where your books are now, what you need doing each month, and what questions you have. There is no obligation and no sales process. I will tell you plainly whether I can help and what it would cost.
Agree a fixed monthly price
Based on your business size and what needs doing, I give you a fixed monthly price before anything starts. You know exactly what you are paying and exactly what is covered.
Get set up on Xero
If you are not already on Xero, I get you set up and connected to your bank accounts. If you are already using Xero or another system, I review what is there and bring everything up to date before moving forward.
Your books kept current every month
From that point, I keep your records accurate each month, file your VAT returns when they are due, and handle payroll if that is part of your package. You can contact me directly whenever you have a question and I will get back to you personally.
