Is your bookkeeping getting in the way of running your business?

Four questions. Under two minutes. Find out where things actually stand.

How up to date are your business records right now?

How do you currently handle your VAT returns and HMRC deadlines?

How much time do you spend each month on admin, receipts and financial paperwork?

Do you know what your business made and spent last month, without having to dig for it?

YOUR RESULT

Your books need attention and the longer it waits, the more it costs

Based on your answers, your bookkeeping has got away from you. That is more common than you think, and it is fixable. The first call I have with business owners in this situation is always about where things stand now, not where they should have been six months ago. There is no judgment in that conversation, just a clear plan for getting back on track.

YOUR RESULT

You are managing, but it is costing you more time than it should

You have a working system but it is still pulling your attention away from running your business. With fixed-price monthly bookkeeping starting from £25, handing this over to me often costs less than what your own time is worth. A short call is enough to work out what would actually help.

YOUR RESULT

Your foundations are in place, but there may still be room to free up your time

Your books are in reasonable shape, which makes it straightforward to hand over to someone else. If you want to stop thinking about bookkeeping entirely, a quick call will confirm what that would look like and what it would cost.

WHAT I DO

Services built around what Stowmarket small businesses actually need

I handle the tasks that take up your time and carry compliance risk if they go wrong.

01

Monthly Bookkeeping

I keep your records accurate and up to date every month using Xero, so you always have a clear picture of where your business stands. You stop spending evenings on receipts and spreadsheets and get that time back.

From £25/month
02

VAT Returns and MTD Submissions

I prepare and file your VAT returns on time each quarter, fully compliant with Making Tax Digital requirements. You do not need to worry about HMRC deadlines or whether your software is MTD-compatible.

MTD Compliant
03

Payroll, CIS and Self Assessment

I process payroll, handle CIS returns for contractors and subcontractors, and prepare self assessment tax returns. Each of these carries penalties if filed late or incorrectly, so having them handled properly removes real financial risk from your business.

WHY IT WORKS

Why working with a sole-trader bookkeeper is different

Larger firms hand your account to a junior. I do the work myself, every month.

You always speak to the person doing your books

There is no account manager acting as a go-between. When you call or email with a question, you reach me directly. That means faster answers and no information getting lost between people.

Fixed monthly pricing with no surprises

Pricing starts from £25 per month and is agreed upfront before we start. You know exactly what you are paying each month, which makes it easier to plan and removes any anxiety about picking up the phone.

MTD-compliant and Xero-based from day one

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax becomes mandatory from April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, with lower thresholds following in subsequent years. I am already set up for this, so your business will not be caught out by the changes.

FROM CLIENTS I WORK WITH

What clients say about working with me

GETTING STARTED

How we get started

Four straightforward steps from first contact to your books being handled.

01

Book a free call

We have a short call where you tell me about your business and where things stand with your books. There is no pressure and no commitment required. I will ask a few questions and give you a straight answer on how I can help.

02

I give you a clear quote

Based on what you need, I confirm a fixed monthly price before anything starts. No hidden fees and no hourly rates that creep upward.

03

We set up Xero and connect your accounts

I set up or take over your Xero account, connect your bank feeds and bring everything up to date. If your records are behind, I work through the backlog without making it your problem.

04

Your books run on schedule every month

From that point on, I handle your bookkeeping, VAT, payroll or whichever services we have agreed, on time each month. You get on with running your business and I get on with the numbers.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions I hear most often

Yes. Most people I speak to have let things slip at some point, whether that is a few months or longer. The first call is just about working out where things stand. I have seen most situations and sorting out a backlog is a normal part of the work.
No. Everything runs online using Xero, so you do not need to meet in person or travel anywhere. I work with clients across Suffolk entirely remotely. If you want a face-to-face meeting, that can be arranged, but most clients find it is not necessary.
Pricing starts from £25 per month and is based on your transaction volume and which services you need. I confirm the exact monthly price before we start, so you know what you are paying before you commit to anything.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax becomes mandatory from April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, with lower thresholds applying in 2027 and 2028. I am already MTD-compliant and Xero-based, so if you are working with me before those dates, your business will meet the requirements without you having to do anything extra.
