Xero bookkeeping

Xero Bookkeeping Service

Your Xero account, kept in order every month by one person who knows your numbers

Xero bookkeeping works well when someone who knows what they are doing stays on top of it month after month. I do exactly that for small businesses across Suffolk.

If your Xero account has uncategorised transactions, a bank feed that stopped syncing, or reports you do not trust, I can fix that and keep it running properly from that point on. Fixed monthly pricing starts at £25 per month.

Is your Xero bookkeeping actually on track?

Four questions. Takes about 90 seconds. Find out where your records stand right now.

How often do you reconcile your bank transactions in Xero?

Do you know whether your Xero VAT records are Making Tax Digital compliant?

If you looked at your Xero profit and loss report right now, would it reflect your actual business?

How long would it take you to locate a specific transaction from three months ago?

YOUR RESULT

Your Xero records need attention before the next deadline

Based on your answers, your Xero account is likely storing up problems that will cost time and money to sort out later. Missed reconciliations, uncategorised transactions and non-compliant VAT records do not fix themselves. A free call with me takes 20 minutes and gives you a clear picture of what needs doing and what it will cost to put right.

YOUR RESULT

You have made a start but there are gaps worth addressing

Your Xero setup is functioning at a basic level but there are areas where inaccurate records could affect your tax position or cause problems at year end. A short conversation would help identify where your current process is solid and where a monthly bookkeeping plan would save you time and reduce risk.

YOUR RESULT

Your records are in a reasonable position to build from

Your Xero account is in reasonable shape. The main risk at this stage is keeping it that way as your business grows. If you want someone to take the monthly reconciliation off your plate entirely and handle your VAT submissions, I offer fixed monthly plans that cover exactly that.

WHAT I DO

What I handle so you do not have to think about it

Every service is delivered personally by me. There is no team, no handoff and no different face every time you have a question.

01

Xero Setup and Ongoing Management

I set up your Xero account correctly from the start or fix an existing one that has gone off track. Each month I keep your chart of accounts tidy, your bank feed reconciled and your records ready for VAT, payroll or year end without any last-minute scramble.

02

VAT Returns and MTD Submissions

From 6 April 2026, sole traders earning over £50,000 must file income tax returns through MTD-compatible software. I handle your quarterly VAT submissions directly through Xero, which is MTD compliant, so your filings go to HMRC correctly and on time without you logging into any government portal.

03

Payroll and CIS Returns

If you employ staff or work under the Construction Industry Scheme, I manage your monthly payroll and CIS deduction statements so the figures going into your Xero account match what you actually paid and deducted. This keeps your books accurate and your HMRC submissions on time.

WHY IT WORKS

Why working directly with one bookkeeper makes a difference

Most practices pass clients between staff. Here, you always deal with the same person who already knows your business.

You talk to me, not a support queue

Every client I take on deals directly with me. When something comes up in your Xero account or you have a question about a transaction, you contact me and get an answer from the person who knows your books. There is no account manager acting as a go-between.

Fixed monthly pricing with nothing hidden

Pricing starts at £25 per month and is agreed before I start any work. You know exactly what you are paying each month, which makes it straightforward to budget for. There are no variable fees based on how many transactions you have that month.

MTD compliance is built in, not bolted on

Xero is MTD-compatible software, which means your VAT submissions and, from April 2026, your income tax reporting meet HMRC requirements by default when I manage your account. You do not need to check compliance separately or rely on bridging software.

GETTING STARTED

How we get started

Four straightforward steps from first conversation to books running on time every month.

01

Book a free call

You book a call at a time that suits you. We talk through your current Xero setup, what is working, what is not and what you actually need. No pressure and no sales pitch. I will tell you honestly if I am the right fit for your situation.

02

I review your Xero account

Once you decide to go ahead, I look at your existing Xero file. I identify any uncategorised transactions, bank reconciliation gaps or chart of accounts issues that need sorting before we get into a regular monthly routine.

03

We agree a fixed monthly plan

Based on what your business needs, I put together a fixed monthly price that covers everything we have agreed. You get a written summary of what is included before anything starts. Pricing starts at £25 per month.

04

I handle your books every month

From that point I take care of your Xero bookkeeping, VAT submissions and any other agreed services each month. You get on with running your business and contact me directly whenever a question comes up.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions I get asked often

Xero is accounting software, not a bookkeeping service. It records and organises your financial data, but only if someone categorises transactions correctly, reconciles the bank feed and keeps the chart of accounts accurate. If that work is not being done consistently, your Xero reports will not reflect your actual business position. A bookkeeper does the ongoing work so the software gives you useful information.
No. Most clients I start with have some level of backlog or inconsistency in their Xero account. The first thing I do is review what is there and identify what needs correcting. I will tell you honestly what that involves and what it will cost to sort out before we agree anything.
A bookkeeper keeps your day-to-day financial records accurate and up to date throughout the year. An accountant typically uses those records to prepare year-end accounts and handle tax planning. Many accountants I work alongside actively prefer clients whose books are already accurate in Xero because it reduces their preparation time and your accountant fees.
It depends on the size and complexity of your business. For a sole trader with straightforward income and expenses, the entry-level price covers monthly bookkeeping. Businesses with payroll, VAT, CIS or higher transaction volumes will be on a higher tier. I give you a fixed price before starting, based on your actual situation, so there are no surprises.
