Is your payroll setup putting you at risk?

Four questions. Takes 90 seconds. Find out where your payroll stands.

How are you currently handling payroll for your business?

How confident are you that your PAYE submissions reach HMRC on time every pay period?

How much time do you spend on payroll admin each month?

Have you received any queries, notices or penalties from HMRC related to PAYE in the last twelve months?

YOUR RESULT

Your payroll setup carries real compliance risk right now

Based on your answers, your current approach to payroll is likely costing you time and exposing your business to HMRC penalties. Late or incorrect Full Payment Submissions can result in charges starting at £100 per month depending on your headcount, and HMRC can issue specified charges based on your previous PAYE history if submissions are not filed. The good news is this is entirely fixable, and I help businesses get compliant from wherever they are starting.

YOUR RESULT

You have a working setup, but there are gaps worth addressing

Your payroll is broadly functional, but the time it takes you each month and the uncertainty you feel about compliance are signs that the current setup is not working as well as it should. Handing payroll to someone who does this every month means fewer late nights, fewer errors and no more second-guessing whether your figures are right.

YOUR RESULT

You are in a good position and ready to fully step back from payroll admin

Your payroll is well managed, which means you already understand the value of getting it right. If you are looking for a local bookkeeper to take over entirely so you have one less thing to think about, I can pick this up with minimal disruption to your existing setup.

WHAT I DO

What I handle as part of your payroll service

A straightforward monthly service that covers everything HMRC requires, with no surprises.

01

PAYE Payroll Processing

I calculate gross pay, tax and National Insurance for each employee every pay period and send payslips directly to your team. All Full Payment Submissions are filed with HMRC on time, so you are never chasing a deadline or worrying about a penalty landing on your doorstep.

02

RTI Submissions to HMRC

Every payroll run is reported to HMRC in real time through an RTI-compliant Full Payment Submission. HMRC charges penalties starting at £100 per month for late or missing submissions, so having this handled accurately each pay period removes that risk entirely.

Payroll Linked to Your Xero Books

As a certified Xero Expert, I post payroll journals directly into your Xero account so your books stay accurate without any double-handling. You get a clear picture of your wage costs each month without having to reconcile anything yourself.

WHY IT WORKS

What working with me actually looks like

A personal service is different from an anonymous payroll bureau, and the difference matters.

You speak to me, not a ticket system

There is no team here, which means when you ring or email about payroll, you speak to the person who processed it. If an employee queries their payslip or HMRC sends something unexpected, you are not waiting on hold or explaining your situation to someone who has never seen your account before.

Fixed monthly pricing with no hidden costs

Payroll pricing is agreed upfront so you know exactly what you are paying each month. There are no extra charges for payslips, RTI submissions or Xero journals. Fixed costs make it easier to plan your finances without unexpected invoices.

Every invoice supports St. Elizabeth’s Hospice

I donate 5% of every invoice to St. Elizabeth’s Hospice in Ipswich. This is a personal commitment, not a marketing line. My dad died at the hospice and giving back to them is part of how I run my business.

GETTING STARTED

How we get started

From your first call to your first processed payroll, here is what to expect.

01

Book a free call

We start with a short call so I can understand your payroll setup, how many employees you have and what pay frequency you use. There is no obligation and no sales pressure, just a straightforward conversation about what you need.

02

I review your existing setup

I look at what you currently have in place, including any existing payroll software or records, and identify anything that needs to be brought up to date before I take over. If there are gaps, I will tell you plainly what they are and how to address them.

03

Payroll goes live on Xero

Once everything is set up correctly, I process your first payroll run, file the RTI submission with HMRC and send payslips to your employees. I also post the payroll journals into your Xero account so your books reflect the wages accurately from day one.

04

Ongoing monthly handling

Each pay period, I process payroll, file with HMRC and update your Xero account without you needing to prompt me. If anything changes, such as a new starter, a leaver or a pay adjustment, you let me know and I handle the rest.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions about payroll services

It is more common than you might think. HMRC allows corrections to be made through your payroll software, and depending on the nature and timing of the error, it may be possible to avoid penalties entirely. When we speak, I will look at what has happened and tell you honestly what needs to be done to put it right.
Pricing starts from £25 per month and is fixed based on the number of employees and your pay frequency. You will know exactly what you are paying before we start, and that figure does not change unless your circumstances change.
No. If you are not on Xero yet, I can set up your account and migrate your records as part of getting started. If you are already using Xero, I can link into your existing account and start processing payroll from there.
HMRC charges penalties for late Full Payment Submissions starting at £100 per month for businesses with 1 to 9 employees, rising to £200 for 10 to 49 employees, £300 for 50 to 249 and £400 for 250 or more. There is a limited exception if the FPS is filed within 3 days of payday, but HMRC may still penalise regular late filing. Having payroll handled by someone whose job it is to file on time removes this risk.
